Snowbird, Utah, Aug. 3-8, 2025
The International Symposium on Free Radicals (FRS) was established over sixty years ago to bring together researchers at the frontier of the field in a wide variety of topics of free radical chemistry with particular emphasis on the spectroscopic identification, characterization, and reaction dynamics of radicals. The experimental, theoretical, and computational approaches to free radical investigations have advanced tremendously in recent years. Moreover, studying the structural and dynamical properties of free radicals has shed light on a vast variety of physical and chemical processes. These processes span environments from inside every living cell, through the fires of combustion, to the earth’s atmosphere, and beyond to the observable limits of interstellar space. Moreover, free radical research has found applications in new research fields such as atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics. Therefore, the 37th International Symposium on Free Radicals (FRS37) is strongly interdisciplinary with chemists, physicists, astrophysicists and environmental scientists participating, resulting in a conference unique in its creative interactions.

The Local Organization Committee strives to broaden the scope of FRS37. Featured topics include:
Gas-phase, high-resolution spectroscopy of free radicals
Free radical reaction intermediates and reaction kinetics
Molecular dynamics involving free radicals
Astrochemical free radicals
Atmospheric free radicals
Free radicals in combustion
Applications of free radicals in AMO physics
New experimental techniques for free radical studies
Quantum chemistry calculations of free radicals
